Cédric Dubucq

Partner

Cédric Dubucq founded the firm in 2015 with Philippe Bruzzo.

Together with his partners, he advises family groups, executives and mid-sized companies on their most complex transactions (business transfers, structured financing, restructurings) as well as in high-stakes commercial litigation. He acts for debtors as well as for creditors’ representatives (mandataires judiciaires) and court-appointed administrators (administrateurs judiciaires).

Cédric has developed a recognised practice in crisis management, whether financial, reputational or shareholder-related. The firm has notably distinguished itself in large-scale litigation pitting French and European economic players against multinationals in an economic warfare context.

He is also a fiduciary lawyer. In this capacity, he and his team act in in bonis (solvent) contexts, such as enforcing shareholders’ agreements and securing property loans, or in private wealth contexts, ensuring, as an independent third party, the management, holding and transfer of assets.

Cédric advises clients on issues relating to decentralised finance (DeFi), the regulation of digital assets and matters relating to AI and its essential infrastructure.

Co-author, with Dean Jacques Mestre, of a half-yearly column in the Lamy Droit des Affaires devoted to business contract law, he regularly contributes to legal scholarship through publications in leading journals (Recueil Dalloz, Lextenso, Wolters Kluwer).

He was First Secretary of the Conférence du Stage and teaches at the École Nationale de la Magistrature (law of new economies, continuing education), at the Aix-en-Provence Faculty of Law (litigation strategy seminar) and at Panthéon Sorbonne (seminar on the aggressive contractual practices of platforms).

Cédric is the founder and chairman of the Clinique du Droit des Affaires, a pro bono initiative bringing together the best students of the Aix-Marseille Faculty of Law to offer free legal consultations to entrepreneurs.
