Tristan Girard-Gaymard
A partner at Bruzzo Dubucq and senior lecturer (maître de conférences) at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lyon (UCLy), Tristan Girard-Gaymard combines business law practice with academic research. Each activity informs the other.
Educated at Aix-Marseille University, where he obtained a Master 2 in economic law in 2013, he defended a doctoral thesis there in 2018 in private law and criminal sciences entitled Les opportunités d’affaires en droit privé, published in 2020 by the Presses universitaires d’Aix-Marseille and awarded the Lamy publishing prize.
A lecturer and researcher at Aix-Marseille from 2013 to 2020, he then joined UCLy, where he teaches commercial law and company law and has directed a university diploma in business law since 2022.
At the firm, his practice is mainly devoted to economic warfare litigation; he also works on mergers and acquisitions. He also chairs the firm’s Scientific Advisory Board and leads its scholarly activity.
His work, published in the leading French law journals as well as in international collective volumes, covers business contract law, competition and distribution law, company law and the questions that the digital economy raises for private law. It is now turning towards the relationship between private economic powers and sovereignty. He regularly speaks at conferences in France and abroad.
He works in French and English.
